Basketball Game Preview: Gadsden Panthers vs. Las Cruces Bulldawgs

Gadsden is 0-10 against Las Cruces since January of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Gadsden Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Las Cruces Bulldawgs at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Monday, Gadsden was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-35 to Organ Mountain. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Las Cruces faced Mayfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Las Cruces fell just short of Mayfield by a score of 35-33. The Bulldawgs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Gadsden's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Las Cruces, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Gadsden took a serious blow against Las Cruces in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 63-34. Can Gadsden avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
