Recap: West Adams Panthers vs. Manual Arts Toilers
The West Adams Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 94-34 loss at the hands of Manual Arts. While losing is never fun, West Adams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1122nd, while Manual Arts is ranked 301st).
Devin Moody continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Manual Arts, scoring 35 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Moody has scored at least a third of Manual Arts' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Castillo, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
West Adams' loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Manual Arts, they pushed their record up to 22-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
West Adams will head out on the road to face off against Los Angeles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Los Angeles will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Manual Arts, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sylmar at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Sylmar focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
