Softball Recap: Bridgeland's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bridgeland had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Waller Bulldogs. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Lucy Sharon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylie Marquart, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. She also put up a home run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Vianey Cabrera, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Bridgeland now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Waller, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Bridgeland didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-0 win against Cypress Lakes on the 18th. As for Waller, they have also already played their next game, a 15-5 victory against Jersey Village on the 11th.
