Basketball Game Preview: Monarch Coyotes vs. Frederick Golden Eagles

The Monarch Coyotes will square off against the Frederick Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monarch is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season.

Frederick better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Monarch really get things going. Monarch put the hurt on Skyline with a sharp 77-53 victory on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Coyotes have posted since February 13, 2024.

It was another big night for Logan Laverty, who went 8 of 12 en route to 20 points along with six boards and three steals. The match was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Myers, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds.

Monarch was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Frederick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holy Family.

Frederick now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Monarch, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
