Basketball Recap: Riverton Comes Up Short

Riverton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Frontenac Raiders. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Rams came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Raiders are ranked 247th).

Riverton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Frontenac, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Coming up, Riverton will take on St. Mary's-Colgan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Mary's-Colgan will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Riverton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Frontenac, they will venture away from home to challenge Baxter Springs on February 14th.
