Football Recap: Frederick Golden Eagles vs. Mead Mavericks
Frederick couldn't quite beat Mead on Friday, but the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 24-point defeat they were dealt last Thursday. The Frederick Golden Eagles fell just short of the Mead Mavericks by a score of 16-14. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Although Frederick took the loss, they still got scores from Sonny Delpizzo and Tristen Dean.
Frederick's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mead, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Frederick will face off against Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mead, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greeley West at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th.
