Basketball Recap: Frontier Piles Up the Points Against Madonna

There's no place like home for Frontier, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They breezed by the Madonna Blue Dons to the tune of 62-19 on Monday. That looming 62-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Leading Frontier to victory were Willow Smitley and Kelsey Dye. Smitley dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards, while Dye went 7 for 9 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Smitley a new career-high in boards. Anna Bowersock was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 14 points.

Frontier smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Frontier's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Madonna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Frontier will welcome Caldwell at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th. As for Madonna, they will head out on the road to square off against Weir at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th.
