Basketball Game Preview: Portage Mustangs vs. Bishop Carroll Huskies

Two dominant guards in Owen Gouse and Jace Casses are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Portage Mustangs and the Bishop Carroll Huskies will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Portage's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Thursday, Portage didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against United, but they still walked away with a 70-65 win.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 57 points the game before, Bishop Carroll was a bit more limited in their game last Monday. They were dealt a 63-24 defeat at the hands of Greater Johnstown. The Huskies have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Portage is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Bishop Carroll, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-4.

Portage ended up a good deal behind Bishop Carroll in their previous meeting back in February, losing 70-56. Thankfully for Portage, Luke Repko (who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
