Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McNeil). Everything went their way against the Manor Mustangs on Thursday as they made off with a 31-2 win. With that victory, the Mavericks brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Ethan Coronado made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Justin Sandusky was a standout: he went 4-for-6 with one home run, nine RBI, and four runs. He is becoming a predictor of McNeil's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 8-9-2 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Tyler Schwarz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three doubles.

McNeil always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. They are 5-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for McNeil and bumps their season record up to 12-10-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Manor, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

McNeil didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-1 win against Hutto on the 22nd. Manor has also already played their next contest (against Cedar Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
