Baseball Game Preview: Laporte Wildcats vs. Nevis Tigers

Laporte is 1-9 against Nevis since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Neither Laporte nor Nevis posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Laporte and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats fell 7-2 to the Wolves on Friday.

Meanwhile, Nevis suffered their biggest defeat since May 16, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 8-1 to Sebeka. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.

Nevis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Lindow, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Nevis fell to 3-1. As for Laporte, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Laporte might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Nevis when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
