Basketball Game Preview: Lakes Lancers vs. River Ridge Hawks

The Lakes Lancers will take on the River Ridge Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Lakes didn't have too much trouble with Capital as they won 77-62. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Cougars are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, River Ridge hadn't done well against Timberline recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. River Ridge walked away with a 68-61 win over Timberline.

River Ridge is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Lakes, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Lakes came up short against River Ridge when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 77-70. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of River Ridge's Dominique Harper, who went 8 for 10 on his way to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and five blocks.
