Softball Recap: Isabella Find Success

With a playoff win on the line, Isabella rose to the challenge on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Central of Coosa County Cougars a 15-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Maleigh Mcgualliard looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Natalie Smithermen was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Eliza Lovett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Isabella's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Central of Coosa County, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.

As of now, neither Isabella nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
