Preview: South View Tigers vs. Cape Fear Colts
South View is 1-9 against Cape Fear since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The South View Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Cape Fear Colts at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully South View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
South View proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 22) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Gray's Creek 48-45. The win was nothing new for South View as they're now sitting on three straight.
South View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Antrell Gilmore led the charge by scoring 13 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Anthony Farrior, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Cape Fear was the victim of a tough 50-29 loss at the hands of Jack Britt on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cape Fear has scored all season.
South View's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Cape Fear, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.
Everything went South View's way against Cape Fear in their previous meeting back in January as South View made off with a 66-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South View since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
