Niceville faced Gulf Breeze in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles came out on top against the Dolphins by a score of 6-3. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Matthew Marcantonio, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Deacon Avery, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Niceville pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Gulf Breeze, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.

Coincidentally, Niceville and Gulf Breeze will both be playing South Walton the next time they take the field. The Dolphins will head out to face the Seahawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
