Basketball Recap: Khamani Leonard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Walton Beach over Choctawhatchee

Fort Walton Beach was the 63-62 winner over Choctawhatchee when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The match between the Fort Walton Beach Vikings and the Choctawhatchee Indians didn't end well, with the Fort Walton Beach Vikings falling 61-46. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fort Walton Beach's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khamani Leonard, who went 5 for 7 en route to 9 points and six boards. Leonard continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Rodric Starks was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Choctawhatchee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ty Jarboe-Alford, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keymaury Allen, who put up nine points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Fort Walton Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Choctawhatchee, their record now sits at 9-13.

Fort Walton Beach didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-57 loss against Crestview on the 1st. As for Choctawhatchee, they have also already played their next game, a 62-46 defeat against Florida Coastal Prep on the 31st.
