League recap: New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly stuns Sangamon Valley/Tri-City in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sangamon Valley/Tri-City, who took down 433rd ranked Sangamon Valley/Tri-City, 41-24. Tyler Cloyd ran for 149 yards in the win.

New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly moved up to 430 from 459 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sangamo. The Scotties/Pretzels were able to make the jump by beating the Storm 41-24.

Auburn's dynamic duo of Korben Clark and Jeremy Glandon proved tough for Pawnee to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Clark threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns and Glandon had 91 yards receiving. Wes Copelin helped Auburn's passing attack out by catching four balls for 79 yards.

William Schneider provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Riverton fell to Williamsville. He completed 22 passes for 143 yards and also ran for 78 yards. Schneider's favorite target this week was Jazeel King, who caught nine passes for 56 yards.

Jak Loutzenhiser was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 197 yards on 16 carries as the Bullets defeated the Indians. Josh Lindsey also contributed to the rushing game with 72 yards on the ground.

The Hawks' Schneider and King have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Schneider has thrown for 1661 yards this season, while King has 42 catches for 684 yards. Austin Muench from Auburn leads the league in rushing with 904 yards.

Dave Bates' team's Muench needs only 96 yards against Williamsville next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.

A big matchup in Sangamo this week will be when Aaron Kunz's team takes on the Trojans. The Bullets are in first place, while Auburn is in third place.

There should be lots of points scored when Williamsville and the Trojans face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bullets comes in having scored 330 this season, while Auburn has scored 302. Williamsville scored 45 points last week as it topped Riverton.

The Bullets extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Josh Lee's team, 45-8. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
