Basketball Recap: Byron-Bergen Triumphs

Byron-Bergen's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 44-41 victory from a begrudging Bees squad. They have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

When it comes to explaining why Pembroke lost, don't look at Seneca Calderon. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Calderon is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Byron-Bergen's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Pembroke, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Byron-Bergen will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025. Pembroke will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Barker at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
