Basketball Recap: Johnson City Piles Up the Points Against Santa Anna

Johnson City won the last time they faced Santa Anna and things went their way on Saturday too. The Eagles claimed a resounding 69-19 victory over the Mountaineers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Johnson City was led to victory by Collin Corpus and Preston Craig. Corpus shot 77% from the field on his way to 22 points in addition to five assists and five steals, while Craig went 8-for-13 en route to 18 points and four steals. Craig has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brady Odiorne, who posted nine points.

Johnson City's record now sits at 3-4. As for Santa Anna, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Johnson City will venture away from home to take on Lometa at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Anna, they will welcome XDOT Academy on Tuesday. The Mountaineers will need to watch out since the Bison have now posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
