Recap: Bovina Mustangs vs. Boys Ranch Roughriders
The Bovina Mustangs's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed by Boys Ranch on the road to the tune of 60-30. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-9.
Bovina's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yandel Deleon led the charge by scoring 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Deleon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Herrera, who scored 13 points.
Bovina's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-13. As for Boys Ranch, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Bovina will be playing at home against Vega at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boys Ranch, they will head out on the road to face off against Farwell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Farwell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
