Baseball Recap: Garrard County Takes a Loss

Garrard County was the 7-6 winner over Southwestern when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Lions fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2 on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Golden Lions have lost by just one run.

Zacharee Stacy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Korbin Fogler, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Garrard County and nudges their season record down to 8-18. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Southwestern, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-15.

Looking ahead, Garrard County will square off against Boyle County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Southwestern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
