Basketball Game Preview: Marion County Knights vs. Elizabethtown Panthers

Marion County is 0-5 against Elizabethtown since December of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Marion County Knights will get right back to it and host the Elizabethtown Panthers at 7:30 p.m.

Marion County came up into this matchup off a tough 29-point loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Washington County by a score of 43-40 on Tuesday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Elizabethtown waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 67-55 victory over the Trojans. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Trojans are ranked 164th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elizabethtown's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Marion County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Marion County ended up a good deal behind Elizabethtown when the teams last played back in March of 2019, losing 60-42. Thankfully for Marion County, Sydney Clark (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
