Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Marion Harding

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Marion Harding ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They managed a 54-49 victory over the Harbor Creek Huskies. Given the Presidents' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 101st in Ohio, while the Huskies are ranked 260th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was JT Delsandro, who posted 15 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Tucker Chwatek, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

The win was the fourth in a row for Marion Harding, bringing their record for this year to 7-2. As for Harbor Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Marion Harding will take on Pleasant at 2:30 p.m. on January 4th. As for Harbor Creek, they and Meadville will meet in a canine-themed contest at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Meadville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
