Walker had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Central. For Walker, this counts as revenge for the 6-2 victory Central walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Walker's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-10.

Looking ahead, Walker will head out to challenge East Ascension at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Central, they will welcome Teurlings Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
