Volleyball Recap: Shady Spring Extends Winning Streak to Three

Shady Spring waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Greenbrier East Spartans. That's the fifth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory back in September.

While Shady Spring won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-16.

Shady Spring found their leader in sophomore Bryanna Shrewsberry, who had four digs and two aces.

Shady Spring's win bumped their record up to 34-12-1. As for Greenbrier East, their loss ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-18-5.

Coincidentally, Shady Spring and Greenbrier East will both be playing Independence the next time they take the court. The Spartans will host the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
