Basketball Recap: Gardendale Snags 12th Win in Last 16 Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pleasant Grove, Gardendale was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Leeds Greenwave with a sharp 54-30 win. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Greenwave are ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gardendale has also been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Leeds, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-16.

Gardendale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-20 victory against Athens on the 31st. Leeds has also already played their next game, a 79-46 loss against Moody on the 31st.
