Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Valley Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zathan Ruffin, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Zac Ruelas was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Anthem Prep saw an underclassman step up: Cole Schirm scored 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Brandt Schirm, who scored ten points.
North Valley Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Anthem Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
North Valley Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Desert Heights Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Heights Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Anthem Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln Prep at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
