Recap: West Lafayette Red Devils vs. Frankfort Hot Dogs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the West Lafayette Red Devils had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They really took it to the Hot Dogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-18 win on the road. West Lafayette has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 28 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Adrianne Tolen, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Werth, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Frankfort struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as West Lafayette pulled down 26 offensive rebounds.
The win (which was West Lafayette's third in a row) raised their record to 15-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Frankfort, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-22.
West Lafayette will take on the Bombers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rensselaer Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 206 points over their last three matches. Frankfort does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
