Softball Recap: Carlisle Takes a Loss

Carlisle entered their contest against Quitman on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Carlisle Bison fell 4-1 to the Quitman Bulldogs.

Carson Mealler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Carlisle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jessa Wiles, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Carlisle now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Quitman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlisle will welcome Des Arc at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Quitman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wonderview at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
