Basketball Recap: Sylacauga takes loss despite strong efforts from Jordan Roberson and Revish Bardwell

Basketball Recap: Sylacauga Aggies vs. Opelika Bulldogs
The Sylacauga Aggies pushed their score all the way to 64 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-64 to Opelika. Sylacauga was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Revish Bardwell and Jordan Roberson certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Bardwell dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Roberson scored 15 points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Crowe, who scored nine points.
Sylacauga's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-12. As for Opelika, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-14.
Sylacauga won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alabama (Comer is ranked 186th, while the Aggies are ranked 205th). Opelika does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
