St. Helena (Calif.) saw its 10-point lead dwindle to four, but still managed to hang on and defeat
Salesian (Richmond, Calif.) 29-25 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
De'angelo Hernandez touchdown run, the Pride went into halftime with a 19-15 lead. The Saints took the lead for good with a
Danny Brink touchdown run in the third quarter.
St. Helena's defense chipped in with six points of its own during the win.
SH's most effective player was
Sebastian Segura. The junior running back ran for one touchdown and kicked one field goal and two extra points. He has now scored 13 touchdowns on the season.
Tyrone Morgan played well for Salesian. The junior wide receiver caught three touchdowns.
The loss comes after Salesian defeated Kennedy 16-8 last week.
