Soccer Game Preview: Brunswick vs. Valdosta

The Brunswick Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Valdosta Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Brunswick lost 5-2 to South Effingham two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Valdosta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They came up short against Lanier County, falling 8-3.

London Simpson and Nikita Carr scored all three of Valdosta's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Valdosta's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Brunswick beat Valdosta by a goal in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
