Baseball Recap: Angleton Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Angleton can now relate to. They fell just short of the Barbers Hill Eagles by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Kade Dobbs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Angleton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Del Hierro, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Angleton's loss dropped their record down to 10-16-1. As for Barbers Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Angleton nor Barbers Hill have any future games scheduled.
