Recap: Crestview Knights vs. Jefferson Wildcats
The Jefferson Wildcats typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday the Crestview Knights proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 52-41 win over the Wildcats. The win made it back-to-back wins for Crestview.
Leading Crestview to victory were Cali Gregory and Myia Etzler. Gregory dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Etzler dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Gregory has scored at least a third of Crestview's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaci Gregory, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Crestview's win was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. As for Jefferson, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-2.
Crestview will take on Shawnee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shawnee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Crestview is ranked 49th). As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against Ottoville at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ottoville and Jefferson are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
