Softball Recap: Oelwein Drops Season-High Score on Aplington-Parkersburg

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oelwein). They put the hurt on the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons with a sharp 17-8 win on Wednesday. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Oelwein's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Aplington-Parkersburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oelwein will head out to square off against Wapsie Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Aplington-Parkersburg, they will take on Union at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
