Volleyball Recap: Metro-East Lutheran Comes Up Short

Metro-East Lutheran extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Althoff Catholic Crusaders. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Crusaders when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Althoff Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The win was familiar territory for they, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Althoff Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rhett Neville, who had 17 assists and five digs. Neville is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 26 games he's played dating back to last season.

Metro-East Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Maryville Christian on the 10th. As for Althoff Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Collinsville on the 11th.
