Springfield got themselves on the board against New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly on Friday, but New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly never followed suit. They blew past the Vipers 12-0. The Senators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Mia Volpert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Volpert was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maya Bennett, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Bella Pagliara was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Springfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly only posted an OBP of .100.

Springfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-22.

Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-0 win against Richwoods on the 19th.
