East Valley Athletes for Christ had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Harvest Prep Academy Eagle with a sharp 11-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Antonio Barranca made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Barranca was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

In other batting news, Cameron Marshall and Daniel Grondin did most of the damage at the plate: Marshall went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Grondin scored a run and stole five bases while going 3-for-4. That run marked the first that Grondin scored this season. David Glasscock was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

East Valley Athletes for Christ kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matches.

East Valley Athletes for Christ's record now sits at 6-1. As for Harvest Prep Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, East Valley Athletes for Christ and Harvest Prep Academy will both be playing Imagine Prep Coolidge the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Eagle will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
