Basketball Game Preview: Oakwood Comets vs. Tolono Unity Rockets

The Oakwood Comets will face off against the Tolono Unity Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Friday, Oakwood came up short against Schlarman and fell 70-58.

Meanwhile, Tolono Unity ended up a good deal behind Monticello on Tuesday and lost 59-44. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Rockets came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Sages are ranked 264th).

Oakwood's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Tolono Unity, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 22-8.
