Preview: Yelm vs. Shelton
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Yelm. They will challenge Shelton on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Shelton will need to watch out since Yelm have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Yelm might be getting used to good results now that the squad has four wins in a row. They took their matchup against Peninsula last Friday by a conclusive 42-21 score. Junior Carson Amendt and senior Kyle Robinson were among the main playmakers for Yelm as the former rushed for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns and the latter accumulated 188 passing yards and punched in 2 rushing TDs. That makes it seven straight good games in a row from Robinson.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Shelton, and their game last Friday only extended their streak of losses to seven. They were completely outmatched, falling 14-50 to Gig Harbor.
Yelm took the match and then some with a 56-14 victory over Shelton the last time the two teams met. Will Yelm repeat their success, or does Shelton have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
