Volleyball Recap: Oswego East Wolves vs. Lockport Porters
Oswego East lost against Lockport back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wolves fell 2-0 to the Porters.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16.
Tori Vlcek paced Oswego East's offense, picking up six kills. Vlcek got some help from Riley Trefny and her six assists. Finally, Mia Stanley and Gia Sylvestre kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.
Lockport was led to victory by Emma Consigny and Malia Cole. Consigny had eight digs and five assists, while Cole hit 75% for six kills and five aces. That's the most assists Consigny has posted over her last nine contests. Olivia Maier also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Oswego East's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Lockport, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Oswego East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Joliet Central on the 30th. As for Lockport, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Homewood-Flossmoor on the 25th.
