Soccer Game Preview: North Lamar vs. Pleasant Grove

The North Lamar Panthers will face off against the Pleasant Grove Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Lamar will be strutting in after a win while Pleasant Grove will be coming in after a defeat.

North Lamar took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Mount Vernon a 2-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 4-1 to Pittsburg. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 720th, while the Pirates are ranked 212th).

North Lamar's win bumped their record up to 9-7-2. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14-2.
