Baseball Game Preview: Central Pointe Christian Academy CPCA vs. IMG Academy Silver Ascenders

The Central Pointe Christian Academy CPCA are taking a road trip to take on the IMG Academy Silver Ascenders at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Things were looking good for Central Pointe Christian Academy after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against MVP Baseball Academy, falling 8-1. The CPCA have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, IMG Academy Silver entered their tilt with St. Petersburg on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Green Devils by a score of 5-1. That's two games straight that the Ascenders have won by exactly four runs.

The team relied heavily on Antonio Chavez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hibiki Misawa, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Chavez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: IMG Academy Silver kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Petersburg only managed six hits.

IMG Academy Silver's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Central Pointe Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10-1.

Central Pointe Christian Academy came up short against IMG Academy Silver in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 4-1. Can Central Pointe Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
