Yuma Catholic had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Gilbert Christian Knights by a score of 6-1. That's more bragging rights for the Shamrocks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mickey Fox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Yuma Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Erik Topete, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Another was Daniel Ruiz, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Yuma Catholic's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Gilbert Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-8 record.
