Recap: Genesee Wolves vs. Durand Railroaders
The Genesee Wolves lost against the Durand Railroaders back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Genesee suffered a tough 64-43 defeat at the hands of Durand. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Genesee in their matchups with Durand: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Genesee saw an underclassman step up: Averie Zinn scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Zinn scored a full 46.5% of Genesee's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Simpson Autumn, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Genesee now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Durand, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genesee will stay at home for another game and welcome Hamady at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hamady has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 218 points over their last three matches. As for Durand, they will be playing at home against Mt. Morris at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
