Baseball Recap: Live Oak Lions vs. Marysville Indians

Live Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They fell just short of the Marysville Indians by a score of 8-7. Live Oak lost against Marysville in their previous head to head back in May of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 22-0 score last time.

Bradley Perigo was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Farron Gomez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

On Marysville's side, the team relied heavily on Andrey Palomo, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Noah Criddle was another key contributor, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his eight plate appearances.

Live Oak will head out on the road to square off against Pierce at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pierce is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Marysville, they will be playing at home against Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Marysville likes a good challenge.
