Baseball Recap: Morse Takes a Loss

Morse couldn't beat Clairemont on Thursday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the second inning. The Tigers fell just short of the Chieftains by a score of 12-11. The Tigers have struggled against the Chieftains recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Christian Fernandez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Morse is 3-1 when Fernandez posts two or more runs, but 2-12-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Moises Davison, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Morse's loss dropped their record down to 5-13-1. As for Clairemont, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Morse wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against La Jolla on the 21st. As for Clairemont, they have also already played their next match, a 5-1 victory against Classical Academy on the 18th.
