Blountstown had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their game with ease, bagging a 56-3 victory over the Liberty County Bulldogs. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-3.

Blountstown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Jones led the charge by throwing for 204 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes. Curtis Ellis was another key pass catcher, picking up 124 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Another reason for the win was Blountstown's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Mack Jones and Omarion Dawson, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece. Christian Martin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Blountstown will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Liberty County, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Vernon at 6:30 p.m.
