Sawyer Staudt Turns in Season-Best Effort

Priest River was led to victory by Sawyer Staudt, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Staudt wasn't messing around, rushing for 264 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. The matchup was his fifth straight with two or more rushing touchdowns. His longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.

The win was the fourth in a row for Priest River, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. Staudt and Priest River will challenge St. Maries at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Underclassman Porter Lewis came into Saturday's match looking to prove himself and that's exactly what he did. New Plymouth had no answer to Lewis on Saturday as he rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 336 yards and a touchdown. Lewis is becoming a predictor of Kellogg's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-4 when he doesn't).

This season, Lewis has thrown 14 touchdowns while averaging 209.6 passing yards per game.

Johnny Starrs Dazzles in Orofino Defeat

While Orofino might've come up empty on Friday, Johnny Starrs wasn't going down without a fight. Starrs turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 139 yards while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run.

Orofino is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. Starrs and Orofino will face off against Bonners Ferry at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
