Football Recap: Eastern Greene Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eastern Greene can now relate to. They were beaten by the Milan Indians 56-14 on Friday. The Thunderbirds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.

Although Eastern Greene took the loss, they still got scores from Eli Engleking and Bryson Jones.

Leading Milan to victory were Beckett Langferman and Wyatt Marsh. Langferman rushed for 175 yards and one score on only 14 carries, while Marsh threw for 119 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes. Langferman's longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Lane Smith was another key player, rushing for 63 yards and one TD.

Eastern Greene's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Milan, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Eastern Greene does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Milan, they will square off against North Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' defense has only allowed 14.3 points per game this season, so the Indians' offense will have their work cut out for them.
