Baseball Recap: Sherman Oaks CES Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Sherman Oaks CES couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears on Saturday. The shutout was out of character for the Knights seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Sherman Oaks CES saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Clinger, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Sherman Oaks CES moved to 15-4 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak. As for Port of Los Angeles, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Sherman Oaks CES does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Port of Los Angeles, they will face off against Sotomayor at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Polar Bears surely won't give up without a fight.
